Rose Design Build outfits Peters Clothiers with new custom shop

Peters Clothiers, a Kansas City-based luxury men’s clothing shop, recently reopened in a built-to-suit, stand-alone space at 12319 State Line Road in Kansas City, Mo.

Constructed by Rose Design Build, the project consisted of remodeling 9,083 SF of existing retail space, plus adding 1,060 SF of additional retail space and a large, two-level 28,443-SF warehouse. The result is a stylish and functional clothing store that reflects Peters Clothiers’ unique history and upscale approach.

Peters Clothiers has a rich family legacy 80+ years in the making.  From humble beginnings growing up on the island of Zakynthos, Greece, Peter Arvantakis moved to Kansas City in 1956 where he started his own tailoring business in Raytown, Mo. in 1963.

Business took off, thanks to his ardent attention to detail and ‘the power of the perfectly-fitted suit.’ The small shop moved several times before settling in Overland Park at College and Metcalf, where Peters Clothiers operated for more than 25 years. The shop then moved to the Plaza and changed its name to Byron in 2014.

In 2019, the family embarked on a journey that was both a new beginning and a return to their roots - heading back to Johnson County and their original namesake: Peters Clothiers.

For Peters Clothiers, Rose Design Build was a perfect match.  Like them, Rose Design Build is unique.  In business since 1925, Rose offers its customers a one-stop-shop experience as both a design architect and a commercial builder.

“Working with Rose Design Build was phenomenal.  They accurately captured the vision for our new space and executed it flawlessly.  Finding a company that could both design and construct made the process incredibly seamless for us.  We love our new space, and we appreciate their efforts every day,” said Spiro Arvanitakis, who co-owns and operates the store with his siblings, Andriana, Jerry and George.

Behold Rose Design Build’s exquisite workmanship and the full range of both business and casual attire that Peters Clothiers has to offer by stopping by in person. It is the same family business, but with an updated style. Shoppers and purveyors can now feel at home in a space that matches the luxury look, feel, and service that Peters Clothiers is known for.

“It was a joyful and invigorating experience working on a high-end retail center for Peters Clothiers. We worked hard to overcome many challenging construction and site constraints and made their dream a reality. The end result speaks for itself,” said Chris Bell, project architect with Rose Design Build.

Store hours are Monday – Saturday: 10 am – 6 pm (closed on Sunday). For more information, or to shop online, you may visit their website at https://petersclothiers.com/.
