Midas Hospitalty buys KC hotel for $9.8M

A St. Louis hospitality group is the new owner of an Independence hotel.

For the $9.8 million pricetag, Midas Hospitality purchased Staybridge Suites Kansas City-Independence, a 102-room hotel located at 19400 E. 39th Place South in Independence, Mo.

Midas is preparing to launch a $1.6 million renovation, which will include a complete interior renovation and exterior landscape updates, beginning in January 2017. The hotel will remain open during the process. Lindsay Chapman will remain as the hotel's general manager.

Founded in 2006, Midas Hospitality has developed, opened and currently manages 27 hotels in 11 states. Midas serves global brands like Hilton, IHG, Marriott, and Starwood.
